This leading fleet management organization sought to modernize their operation from people, process, and technology perspectives in order to better manage the demands of their growing and increasingly geographically-dispersed customer base.

Our Approach

We conducted a thorough current state assessment to surface the root causes and prioritize the principal pain points that were driving the majority of the challenges the client was facing. We uncovered multiple opportunities to clarify team structures, streamline workflows, increase visibility into operational performance, define industry-standard KPIs to evaluate performance, and modernize & integrate their logistical technology stack. We collaborated with the client to structure and drive this transformation program which spanned many areas including: organizational design, process improvement, smart sensor upgrades for their heavy equipment fleet, implementation of an integrated software solution to collect & harness the power of the operational data collected by this smart sensor network, and change management & training to orient their team to this innovative and more efficient logistical model.

The result was a transformed fleet management operation with accurate, real-time data to drive timely management decisions, a modern technology solution comprised of smart sensors and software to provide real-time insight into the status, location, utilization, and operation of their sprawling heavy equipment fleet, an innovative notification model designed to provide advanced notice of upcoming equipment moves to job site foreman so they can adequately prepare, and happier and more engaged employees with greatly improved tools to do their jobs and greater clarity into their roles and performance expectations. Collectively, these improvements offer the potential to drive 7-figures or more of annual operating cost savings — enabling the client to achieve the same business results at much lower cost.
